Five Dolla Holla
Five dollar party time peeps! If you didn’t see the challenge the rules are simple…
- Every time you get a five dollar bill SAVE IT.
- Hide it somewhere cool.
- Do not touch pile until a year has gone by.
- Feel magically richer after a year. #MAGIC
The rules are so easy and the payout is the tits but why aren’t most of us doing it? Whether you play this game or not, it’s high time to start saving your dough that you’ve worked so hard to earn. Serving and industry life is not easy and we should be treating ourselves but not TREATING OURSELVES. Ya dig? We all know the fabulous lifestyle that comes with leaving work full of cash but what bigger things are out there?
Let’s begin with where are you stashing your cash? (Fo real you can tell me. Just email me with your location and where you’re hiding it. Under the mattress? In a tin in the kitchen? Pls make sure addresses are clear in the email). JK I scare myself getting up to pee in the middle of the night there’s no way I could pull off a heist. So unless you’re planning to get super creative with hiding spots, consider having a no touch savings account or investing your money in something that will grow over time. Because I’m a lady of the people I will give you a few options….Option A: Hide it in a secret room that you can only enter through a secret back door through your oven that leads to a secret tunnel that you dug with absolutely no one’s knowledge that can only be unlocked by a secret song played on a (plot twist) RECORDER, but everyone thought you were terrible at it as a kid but secretly you could nail “hot cross buns” with your eyes closed but you were a prodigy genius and foresaw the need to fake your terrible recorder skills as a child so you could then use it to lure the secret door open to your Scrooge Mcduck money pit hidden in your future home. Option B: Bank! Definitely the safest, I suggest opening a savings account that is easy for you to put money in, but JUUUST out of reach to take money out at the spur of the moment. Option C: Invest! I know the animals at the helm of Just the Tips are hard at work building relationships and discovering tools to help you improve your financial lives, so make sure you check out the advice section for tips and products to help you stack that paper! (I personally love Stash Invest!)
Dream big you dreamers! Do you want to start a family someday? Be debt free? Own your own home? Go back to school? Do you want to travel the world? I have a close friend who works her ass off in the service industry so that every year she can go live in another country for a month. SO BADASS. Whatever your big plans are, start considering how you are spending your money and what steps you are taking to save for those dreams. If anyone including yourself hasn’t told you lately, you deserve a beautiful life. Those of us that bust our ass working hard deserve the fruits of that labor. So make a savings plan and get out there and be somebody!!!
I have too many quarters saved and need help carrying them to the coin machine,
Julia
