Spaaaaaah
Ok everyone go out now and buy a SKIN BRUSH. That’s right. A brush for yo skin. (And I don’t even own a brush for mah hair so you know I’m not getting paid for this promotion). You will initially think this is stupid, but I promise skin brushing has major health benefits and leaves you looking FRESSSSSSSSSSSSSH. SO FRESH.
Sit back for the science portion. We all remember that the skin on your bod is the largest organ right? It’s the first line of defense for pretty much everything and holds a lot of tension and garbage from all that work. When you brush your skin you essentially activate waste removal. So dope. Your lymph nodes through hundreds of tubules collect waste and transport it to your blood for total Power Ranger Power elimination. Why is that important? When that shiz builds up you get sick. Simple as that.
WHAT ELSE?!?
- The obvious one, it helps shed dead skin cells encouraging cell renewal. Why so awesome? GLOWING AND TIGHTER SKIN YA’LL!
- Assists in blood circulation. We want this as humans. Two thumbs up!
- Helps release water retention. Guys, it’s like a mini cleanse via relaxing spa treatment…..why are you making me list more reasons this is awesome?!?!?
- Helps reduce cellulite. I know I should have led with this, but I like to reward those that read the entire article. Remember how you are increasing blood flow and circulation on the top of the skin? Remember the cell renewal part? Where da cellulite at? You catch my drift? Now I won’t promise complete removal of cellulite but with all the plumping of the skin it makes a visible difference.
- It’s stress relieving as hell!!! Seriously, if all the health benefits are garbage to you, you must know it feels like heaven and is super invigorating. Think of it as a little mini “me time” before you hop in the shower. Everyone, get some goddamn ME TIME back in your life!
How do I use one?!?!?!
- Apply firm but not painful pressure and use a stroking motion. (Insert fav dick joke).
- Start from the feet and brush upwards towards the heart. Then work from the hands up towards your chest. (Ladies and Meatloaf, don’t brush yo titties! Also, everyone don’t be idiots, don’t brush yo crotch).
- Finish at your chest with small, circular, clockwise movement. This is where your lymph system drains so don’t skip this part!
- Feel free to get fancy by adding your favorite body oil but I would recommend if you choose this route to do it after getting out of the shower. But live your life either way.
You can buy a skin brush at most hippy organic stores or places like Whole Foods. AND most decent brushes are under $15 so it’s a great way to add wellness to your daily routine with minimal investment. Now get out there and live up to your fabulous healthy skin potential!
